located at no. 1 ann siang hill, in chinatown, this winebar is a great find. i like the ambiance and the cozy environment it has. i like the interior of dark old wood that it has, its just something i find really beautiful. well, that is what my place should look like, something homey, with the smell of old dark wood. i wonder how i can achieve that. it also has dimmed lights, a place intimate and just beautiful, i love the second floor more than the first.

so it was a pleasant experience. and i am sure that i would go back there, either for a meal or to celebrate something special, my birthday maybe. hahaha! no, i have other plans on my birthday. hahaha! excited and giddy to do that, as long as i get my leave approved. anyway, here are the foodshots. colorful, at the same time tasted soo good.

we celebrated christmas pinoy style. had tons of food, overflowing drinks, and super kwentuhan. diba ahya ichi, yes.. past is past! hahaha. let me side comment lang, i fully agree with your decision. see achi, malakas ka sa akin. HAHAHA!

so we had tuna carbonara, roasted chicken, smoked chicken, chicken sausages and ham, roasted duck (thanks to kingsley for introducing that duck to us) sushi and sashimi, grape sparkling juice, red wine, beer, soda, cakes and ice cream. so the food was pretty excellent, and so were the people too. we had mechie's family over cause they were here to celebrate christmas. we also had some friends over - mike, kingsley, selwyn, and marlon. so we had fun, some of us stayed until mga 1am na din.



mechie's family went ahead na to rest, so we just stayed and chatted the night away as usual.

so i was assigned to be the so-called chairman to set up a small dinner and fun to celebrate christmas and so i did. eventhough i was a busybee, i still had time to squeeze in a few little things here and there. i can say that it was a lot of fun, and i won a basket of goodies, yeah cheap but hey its still chocolates, wines and etc that was raffled, first time na nanalo ako sa raffle, chocolate nga lang pero still. basta. haha!

anyway, i also made some games, like bring me, and group game, like who can make the longest line from what you have. so it was all fun, i forgot nga lang to take a picture kasi naman i was dying laughing. as in naghubad ang mga utaw sa corridor at nagsihigaan para lang manalo, the price is not big, trust me. but i guess it was all for the spirit of fun!

oh another picture with rebecca, she is a local singaporean but super bait, and super kasundo ko. for the past few days magkasama kame to look around for presents and stuff.


so after my picture my rebecca, our GM said, take a picture of me and anton. so there, the girl in black beside my is wai yin, she is our general manager.


juat eng is a senior DTP artist, who is always stressed cause she does a lot of things, ad the's always busy.. but i can always get away with whatever i want. i just massage her and ask the favor and instanlty she's gonna do it for me.

ting is our senior writer, rebecca's partner. she's from harrisson before.


the girl here is my direct superior, and keith is a dtp artist. we are the one who usually stays late if there are rush OSIm jobs, which is like every other week.


this is a funny picture, the girl who owns the shawl is a writer, and we discovered that she is an FHM model, and was inside singapore's 100 sexiest. so we hid under the shawl and smelled. hahaha! fake photo opp lang yan. anyway, law (writerfrom densu) who is on the extreme right got me sa exchange gift and described me as the company's baby. hahaha!

anyway, it was all fun last night. our managing director thanked me for organizing the party. it was all good, better that what i had expected.. and i had tons of fun. merry christmas everyone!!!

excited to go back home

in a few days, i will be returning to manila, the country where i was born, and the only place i will feel my home. eventhough a lot of people are telling me that the streets are not safe, i feel the safest there. i just love manila, and i will be back in a few days.

oh, merry christmas to my family and friends. i wish you the happiest chrsitmas, and a lovely year ahead. since i wont be home this christmas, i will be celebrating it here, first chrsitmas away from home. hahaha! i hope next year will bring us more joy, laughter, and happiness.

there are so many things i would like to do when back in manila. lalo na when i was reading my past post in my first blog. parang ang dami ko biglang namiss - all the food and places! here are a few list of what i want to do, where i want to go, etc.

- i miss cubao, marikina shoe expo, bellini's.
- i want shawarma from FOOD CHANNEL.
- i want to eat at any hotel buffet preferrably HEAT or CIRCLES.
- i want to try SOM'S
- i am excited to see the 12, my college barkada.
- oh, SONJA'S and KRISPY KREME..
- FAT MICHALEL'S and AMICI'S..
- i have to do my groceries, buy toiletries, etc.
- i want to eat at CAFE FRANCOIS in BF.
- i want DAMPA also..
- i want to go back to the province and have some quiet time alone, just reflect at the past year, and welcome the new.

anyways, i am more excited to go home than to celebrate christmas.

well last saturday's get together was a lot of fun. i tremendously enjoy being with these people. we had mechie, selwyn, rommel and helen over at the condo, since i offered last week to cook some sinigang and adobo for them since we missed pinoy food na. so, we had to do some major cleaning around the house. it was the exercise i was looking for, scrubbing bathroom floors, making the vaccum work, scrubbing walls, and etc. i feel so domesticated. naah, i actually felt like i did something right last saturday and it felt good. i was able to clean my room from all the mess thats been hanging around for 5 mos, i fixed my clothes, lined them up properly. and i feel like its a start of something new, something which could be great for me, personally. i put things in a box, organized the magazines and papers lying around, somehow feels like i am reorganizing my life here. i guess i just like that idea so much.

ALTAZZAG, the egyptian restaurant and designs

since for the past 3 weeks, i have been going around just to look for beautiful and nice things, i found something i really like.
i went to PREVIEW at the ground floor they offer dean&delucca tea's and coffee, it was warm and cozy, full of white and flowers all around it, it was just small, so the ambiance was perfect for me. now, i went in the toilet and found one more thing that's just perfect.


i dont know how they did this, but i had to take a picture of it. maybe its a process called glazing, to make it look like candies and sweets. if ever i get my own apartment - which means i need to buy and not rent, i'll definitely get this design at my toilet floor and walls, maybe even the tub.



i just need to take another shot. anyway, i also like joan's new walls, its beautiful, i can't wait to go in her apartment and just take a look at it, cause i definitely want one, maybe something like that but more personalized, so i can put my favorite pictures and images in it. gawd, to sustain this habit of mine, i need to work like a horse cause buying things is not that easy. haha! but i enjoy putting my money there naman, like an investment of some sort. pero wait, the funny thing is i have a lot of things i bought already over the past few years, and due to some travels, but i haven't made anything yet since gusto ko if i put in things, it will be more temporary, and right now is just not the time to do it, maybe in a few years.

so i've also seen a lot of things that i want to get for my future apartment, like the indian god i saw made in cement in barang barang, the old classic telephone i saw in pluck, nako my list goes on and it will never end. oh, the glass chess board i saw in wheelock, pero i think its the smaller version from the one i asked my cousin to get me from myanmar.

ALTAZZAG, this egyptian resto in haji lane offers really good food, and quite a lot of fun when we go there. siyempre, pinoys are more carefree na kahit ano gawin natin wala tayong pakialam since its nice to sit around, have fun and make a fool of ourselves.

okay before any birthday posts... i think that i am the most transparent person in the world, its always the case that people can see through me, and how i am feeling. kahit na i put on a smile on my face, iba talaga pag pilit padin. what can i do?!?!, i just dont act so well. i think tuloy na weakness ko ang pagiging transparent, kasi kahit sa harap ng client sumisimangot ako. hahaha. pakelam ko, they can fire me if they want and i really wouldnt care at all. hahaha. i think i apply this deadma habit a bit too much na, but masaya kasi siya eh, as in wala lang akong pakelam sa ibang tao. don't get me wrong naturally mabait pa din naman akong tao. this deadma thing applies only to professional relationships. hahaha!

oh, the story why i am transparent.. people in the office can see how sad i am these past few days. i am not my jolly self, i hardly even smile. but i try too naman, kahit papano i want to change that habit of mine naman. haha! as in yung creative group head namin which is a good friend of mine passed by and asked me why am i depressed.. aside from the fact that lyn sent me a box of brownies to make me smile naman daw, kasi she doesnt see me smiling anymore. also, ivy, our media person said to a colleague na she doesnt want to talk to me daw muna because i look so sad.. her words pa nga, "why is that boy so sad?!?!".

ting naman, our pinoy writer wrote me an email and said na keep my heads up, and that malapit na ako umuwi. she even asked me "kung wag ka na kaya bumalik dito, hahabulin ka pa kaya nila?" i asked her why naman?, she said kasi i look so sad and disturbed lang daw." i hope this phase will soon be over, sana ang dahilan ay dahil malapit ng magxmas. anyways...

asian delights: vietnamese food
------

my first post was all about food in singapore, especially the chicken rice, and where you can find the best. so here is ORANGE LANTERN, somewhere near somerset MRT station, around 5-minute walk in front of singtel building. here's the deal, wasn't a big fan of vietnames cuisine, but i liked the vietnamese white coffee i got. it tasted good, sweet, just the way i like my coffee.


where ORANGE LANTERN is located. its just a small store, with a lot of ANG-MO's eating.. anyway that is the local term for caucasians here in sg, at least i learn a few things.


what we ordered, beef spicy noodle. with shreded beef and beef balls.


FRIED SPRING ROLL, good, just like lumpia, but no meat, so i guess its healthier eventhough it is deep fried.


oh my WHITE VIETNAMESE COFEE.. slurp slurp.


oh i didn't try this one, it looks - plain, and might taste like plastic. so pass na lang.

overall, it was good vietnamese comfort food, if you love the smell of fresh beef meat, and hot soup lalo na when its raining, then thats it. :)

okay so here are some random pictures i got from julette's multiply.. and i hate it na nagloloko ang multiply ko, everytime i try to upload, it quits mag-isa. putang inang multiply yan! so next time ill try to grab pictures naman from some other people's multiply. hahaha.

i actually had an okay weekend, i made a call to my mom, aggie, angel and talked to mel as well, paulo, joan, texted angel, julette, ching and julia. so i had fun talking to everyone, its such a relief to be able to do that. kahit wala ng pinaguusapan, okay lang. all that matters was me being able to talk to these people. now, i know why my phone bill blows up.. but anyway kahit maubos pera ko sa kakabayad ng phonebill wala akong pakialam.
