big things come in small packages
-------

as they say when a door closes, a window opens.
sana may bumukas na malaking bintana for me.
and when i finally have the chance to decide whether to jump or not..
its the grandest christmas gift i'd get...

but if i don't get that, then its not meant to be..
greater thing lie ahead, and as a consolation prize..
i should get these.. (i know that i am full of bullshit!!!!)

i like the rugged look of this VANS, its black and has straps.

i love this wallet by paul smith. though i like the other wallet better, with signature paul smith colors. costs over $400. the price is quite deadly and unreasonable. its nice to look at but i wont forgive myself if mawala o masaba yun.

VANS classic slip on - my sister told me, ilan ba paa mo, at kelangan ng madaming sapatos?! my reply: PAKE MO?! HAHA. joke!

VANS classic slip on but leather version. i wonder if i can wear this to office and client meetings?!?!

ADDIDAS CENTENNIAL MIDFAIR - oh this shoes is similar to the MARC JACOBS shoes i like, the hi-cut white and green shoes. i don't know why but i am just super attracted to green and white shoes.

speaking of MARC JACOBS and GREEN color.. most likely the next thing i'd get for myself. HAHA!

crazy sushi guy -- that's me!!!
------

its funny when i think about it, when i was young and my family would eat in a japanese resto, i wouldn't dare eat any tuna sashimi, salmon sashimi, and all the fresh uncooked food - i dont dare touch it. my dad called me "siaw-siaw" or crazy for not eating any, and all i had was kobe beef, shrimp tempura, and japanese fried rice. HAHA!

but now, i've grown into liking sushi and the rawness it has. i crave for sushi - that's how mad i am. HAHA. so i know i have written about sushi tei so many times, and i wonder why it doesn't have a branch in manila nga lang. but its only now, that i was able to take pictures of it to share with you guys.

their bestseller - KING PRAWN SUSHI with UNAGI and AVOCADO on top.

another photo of it.

the KING up close.

KATSUDON

baked salmon maki.. i just love every kind of salmon available.

the sashimi salad - in its pure greatness.

salmon sashimi - i like the pinkish color.

grilled scallops

soft shell crab roll

---

well, i am excited for the weekend to come, want to go try that arabian resto in HAJI LANE. i want to eat those brimming cheesecakes in bishan market, i want to get my slippers in SALAD, and i want to sleep and have fun.

muffins & more
-------

chocolat & spice is an over-rated bakeshop in bishan and tanjong pagar. okay let me tell you why.. we were standing in line at 10.30am just to be able to buy and figure out what the store can offer. they have cakes and muffins, cookies to brownies, but at that time, i was feeling more of having a really special breakfast, if not i would get different slices of cakes, which i vowed to do over the weekend when staying at mechie's place again. YAY!

i love muffins especially goldilock's banana walnut muffin - wala nga lang goldilocks dito, so anyone who's visitng better get me, owkay?! so i bought a couple of muffins from chocolate chip, banana walnut, blueberry and redberry - and tried them all in one sitting. they also offer carrot, and other flavors, mostly didn't appeal to me at that time. and take note they are closed on wednesdays and fridays.

muffins sittng pretty in the box

ready to rumble

the store where people really queue up..

you can see people living near the place walking around with this plastic bag in hand.

they also have different cakes, mostly cheesecake based - which i looove.

---

eileen of THE SALAD SHOP fashion+homeaccessories located at 25/27 haji lane, a botique store called and told me that i can already get the slippers i like. its actually slippers to be used inside the condo, fluffy kind, ordered in HK. it has a very thin rubber sole, and mostly composed ot cotton thats why it super comfortable. when i went there last weekend, it was unavailable, now they have it already and called personally to notify me. i'm wondering whether i should go and buy it.. its cute though. HAHA!

i stopped and took time to breathe.
------

well, it was so long since i had coffee and enjoyed it tremendously - having coffee with simple conversations in the afternoon. its like re-discovering an old habit, it reminded me na i enjoy these simple things nga pala. i went with mechie(cousin) to check out the coolest botique stores here in sg, the one's you can't find in any mall in orchard. shempre, she knows everything too well, and it has been her haven for quite a while already.

so first stop were the botique shop in chinatown. FRONT ROW (5 Ann Singa Road), a beautiful place with deal & deluca in the first floor, and with a wide range of clothes and shoes in the second floor. so we went to check out the place, and i came out of the place bankrupt. i bought a UMBRO KIM JONES WOVEN shoes. its pretty, and fits me well, so i decided to might as well get one. HAHAHA! i hope i dont get shoppers remorse, but i feel good having the shoes.

after, we went to the street in search for some more stores, and after quite a while, felt that we needed to rest.

my shopping bags resting in the chair

the coffee shop was beautiful, fresh air with a lot of foreginers.

WINDOWS on CLUB STREET, the name of the place, and they serve beautiful coffee. i know its not the right term but somehow for me its perfect.

mechie ordered soy latte, but since they dont have it - mocha na lang.

i got my latte fix as well!

S PIZZA

friday night, we found ourselves having dinner in CHINATOWN area, in a pizza and pasta place.

we shared this squash soup, which was okay but i liked cibo better.

the heaviest meal i had - all meat lasagna.

the pizza - chicken pesto with tomato sauce

a think slab of lasagna ready for us to eat

---

anyway, since i was staying for the night, we shared a bottle od ERDIGNER BEER, with cheeto's and jack and jill potato chips while watching HOUSE. At first, we were trying to watch OFFICE, but i really didnt appreciate that. i hate corny people, and i hate how corny the script goes.

CANELE and birthdays..
------

Okay before anything else, a happy happy birthday to my friends, julette and paulo. hope you guys have a BLAST, alam ko naman na di kayo masyadong masaya kasi wala ako diyan, and the feeling is empty. JOKE!!! happy birthday guys and i will see you soon. :)

so as a tribute to them, i celebrated their birthday in CANELE PATISERRIE CHOCOLATERIE, along robertson walk. the place there is quite beautiful and serene, away from the hustle and bustle of busses. one can really spend an afternoon there, and just indulge in their beautiful cakes, pastries, chocolates, tea's, hot chocolate and etc.

BERRIES TART, i cannot stop to violate this tart, the custard was soo good.

the walnut cheesecake for paulo; and the berry tart for julette. (HAHA)

i like this picture hanging in the wall, macaroons in different color. it just feels so alive and glowing. parang "come, take me!"

take a look at how beautiful it can be.

i love nuts, in chocolates, cheesecake, in almost everything..

peppermint tea

vanilla hot chocolate, there's coffe, mocha and other flavors too.

i remember giving pau and julette, devil's foodcake last year, ngayon ito na lang.

at ito ang chocolate ni julette.. shoes!

anyways, lets celebrate again when we see each other.

PASKO NA...
------

Well, Christmas is definitely coming up already. Can’t believe how fast it is, end November na, and soon December will soon be here. Anyways, its my first Christmas in a foreign land, without my immediate family and almost all my friends. Usually if its Christmas, I am busy planning with my barkada, what to do, where to celebrate and etc.. but now i’d still be planning but it’s a different story altogether.

Plans for Christmas:
- Have a barbecue on the 16th with some local friends/officemates, and am planning to invite over some pinoy officemates as well. Sana maka-reserve pa ako sa condo. Pero mga 6 pax lang siguro para di magulo.
- Celebrate Noche Buena with ahya ichi, achi michelle and ej. Maybe we could celebrate din with mechie and family, since her parents are coming over.
- I don’t know if ahya ichi is planning to do Christmas get together with close friends and relatives here in sg, that would be fun. Update update.
- Other than these things, I don’t know what will happen pa.

Christmas wish list:
(its okay, wish lang naman yung iba eh)
- paul smith wallet, with the signature stripe design. Anyways, I am planning to buy this talaga once back in manila, kasi sold out na sa sg, pero as of now parang di logical to buy such a thing.
- Louis vuitton cardholder that I saw two months ago, again not logical.
- Havianna’s – just realized that I just brought a pair of slippers here in sg, at wala nakong tsinelas pang labas at pang bahay. HAHA!
- Book: Truth, Lies & Advertising, The Art of Account Planning by Jon Steel.
- iPod nano
- the cute adidas color gel watch
- 2007 planner – so I can jot down things and schedule for the rest of the year.
- Formal office wear (polo and slacks)
- New shoes!! which I have – thank you to obee and mic for my early Christmas present, sabi niyo nga from Hanoi with love! Side note: just so happy that obee and mic was able to buy what I wanted, 3 new shoes! AYAYAY! Cannot wait.
- Of course, CASH

I have a Christmas and birthday gift na to myself. So happy and looking forward to it. As of the moment, I can’t disclose yet, but yaaaaay!! Super excited na ako for my birthday to come. I’ll just do another post solely for that.

waking up in mysery
------

i woke up today feeling terrible. i don't know why?! i felt tired and drained and miserable. i felt like i dont want tomorrow to come. such a depressing feeling. but everything is cool. i hope its not a sign of anything, i hope it was the sign of the past. and tomorrow would be better, a little bit brighter.

on the contrary, i think i am better now, than the past 3 months i was here. now, i feel like i am living more and enjoying these place. i dont know what kept me in that state for 3 months. and i really hope that i am coping up already.

ang labo ko. kakain na nga lang ako!

MANGO TREE @ EAST COAST
------

so what is mango tree? -- its an indian restaurant in east coast. yeah, its too far from my place since i am way up north, but after i left that place, i felt that it was all worth it. imagine its like price of jaipur, but less of the glitz and glamour, its simple, warm and cozy place to dine and enjoy the good food. to describe how good it is - jaipur is okay, and of all the indian resto's i've tried, i'd say its the best.

anyway, after last night's dinner with mechie and sewlyn at WEE NAM KEE (a post later on), they asked me to join them to eat indian food. i said okay and just text me... so i finally joined them with some of their visitors. at first i was hesitant pa nga cause i am not a huge fan of indian cuisine, unlike japanese, na kahit may sakit ako, ill make sure that i'll be there.

oh, mechie is my kinakapatid and 2nd cousin; my dad and her mom are cousins kasi, and her mom is my godmother during baptism. she's been working here for almost 2 years now. anyway, its selwyn who knows this place, eh naman kasi 5 years na siya in sg, he's a permanent resident na nga eh.

appetizer, i jsut wonder why they didnt serve us any dip. usually they have diba?! i like the plain one better than the one with lots of herbs and spices.

si selwyn na nagorder and all i did was eat and take pictures. i dont even know how to call these entries.

my mango lassi drink, $7, this was my first time to try lassi, and i like it dissolved with tons of ice.

nan served hot

garlic nan to start off the indian adventure

with rice naman to finish the rest.

i liked their utensils, its simple yet i like the craftsmanship. i also asked the server if they are selling their water jar, and where did they get it from. she said it was from india. OH. if someone goes to india, can you buy me.. please!

anyway, after dinner the 3 of us walked around the place, and look at these PRO rollerbladers, they were good, but takaw lang ata sa sugat at bali ng buto ang rollerblading. sa kanila na lang. we finally called it a night, but grabbed mcdo sundae's and shakes muna. a fun saturday ends once more.

next posts would be: canele and wee nam kee.

WEEKDAYS IN SINGAPORE
------

you might think that this post is about how my usual day would go by here in sg, but it would just be boring and there is no fun in looking back at it. for me, my blog is a something i can always look back at and smile, and say that hey those are the memories, those are what happened to me at a specific point and instance of my life. and since i dont want unneccessary stress, i gotta filter what i gotta write, nothing about work anymore. that is what i do to live, not my life basically. so there..

so what's been keeping me busy here other than work, is that food that i try to enjoy every so often.. or more often than how it should be. hahaha!

this is a sign that christmas is around, my all time fave starbucks drink, toffee nut latte, but it costs $6.80, almost Php200 - naka ng poots naman. ang mahal.

rommel, marj's friend brought us here, coffee and toast, vivo city -- very good.

kaya toast that i ordered was very good.

these are the close friends of kaya toast.. ang barkada nila. HAHA!

after dinner, my friend lyn got coffee, while i got dessert of course -- browine fudge ala mode.

this is a lobster salad roll @ ichiban

lyn told me that this salmon tataki, $5.90 is a must try, and its really good, cooked salmon outside, with fresh uncooked salmon inside, but i still love dipping it to wasabi and soy sauce rather than its own sauce.

i got home early last wednesday, and got myself spicy seafood cup noodles, sushi from cold storage, the whole set of sushi costs about $4.50, quite okay. and my flat tops dessert. yay!

a closer look at cold storage's sushi. they offer a wide range though, and since it was kinda late, this was whats left na lang.

this is my sg playmate, whenever its not yet past my bedtime.. ethan and nong-nong.

haay.. more foodie finds as i post the next few days.
