excited for dads birthday!
------

so everyone knows except for my parents that im in manila during dad's 57th birthday in aug 26. i will be arriving 23rd and staying till the 27th. i really am excited, its been 7 long months since i have been back home.

i am uber thankful to my dad and mom, and i kind of feel that i owe them especially my dad - a lot, for reasons that i will not be mentioning.

so, yesterday i was social climbing/window shopping with julette in all of singapore's branded glory, and i got this:

its a wallet (taiga leather) i have been eyeing to buy dad since last februaury. actually mom was planning to get tempur na lang daw for his birthday, but i said, wallet is better kasi sira na wallet nya.

SA's are so cool, they heard it was for my dad's birthday, they gift-wrapped it for me.

i cant wait to bring this baby back home... ;)

crushed night.
------

last june 13, we all got an email from nas, that she is planning for dinner nad drinks on JULY 18 - take note, more than a month notice, just to plan this dinner for all of us, 22 of us actually. 22 people who have resigned from crush and is living a better life now (hopefully!!)

nas picked us up (alice, joey and me - since we all kinda work nearby) and we all went BLUE JAZZ CAFE, they serve really good food, and you pay ur bill separately. cool uh! i ordered grilled dorry fillet and brownie ala mode, of course coke light. i remember i ate here before with kevin poh, with a bottle of red wine actually.

i saw friends that i terribly missed, and the thing is we all feel the same, we kind of miss the team we once belonged to. but then, its fine, we still see each other and laugh till our hearts content. was supposed to go ZOUK but i'm old and had to retire to bed early.

saw and chatted with: christina, joui, leonard, joey, alice, mel, nas, kevin p, kevin a, michelle.. kenny wasn't able to join.

comments noted:
(1)so you know that when am having fun, i really laugh til my hearts content, we had some people (that i dont know, but ex-crush din), they said.. "you are very bubbly.." - nahiya ako ng konti sa comment kaya tumahimik ako for 5 minutes.

(2)kevin p saying that, "yes, anton is our bubbly person, he makes us all laugh.." - thank you kev p.

(3)alice saying with joui agreeing, "antonio is back" - FYI, they say that when its pass 6pm, antonio would come out, cause usually in the morning, i would be silent, and just do my job, once OT na, lumalabas na daw si antonio. HAHA!

(4)"after work, anton shows the bitchy side!!" - joui. i have to kind of agree with this - not really bitchy, but sumusungit na talaga ako, nawawalan na ako ng pasensya.

everyone who knows me know that:
- mabait akong tao, generally, am as cheerful as can be, always smiling at...
- mabilis ako kumilos, kumain, maglakad, lahat na pero...
- ayoko ng makukulit na tao, i cannot have someone bothering me every so often lalo na at...
- di ako plastic, pag nabwiset ako sayo, mararamdaman mo ang deadma kaya,
- dapat lahat planned lahat sa akin, san pupunta, san kakain, etc.
- i am always on time din ako, that is why...
- i hate waiting, kasi i dont have patience.

yun lang ang mga naiisip ko, may naiisip ba kayo na pwede idagdag? HAHAHA!

SPAGGEDIE's and STEAMBOAT
------

it's either i haven't tried a good italian place here in singapore, or i just dont want to spend that much when i can get a chicken rice at $4. HAHA! ang cheap. anyway, i have eaten spageddie's before, but its the first time am blogging about it (i think), i usually go to paragon and have that, but this time around, we were at marina square.

smoked salmon pizza. YUM!

starters, fried finger foods, mozarella cheesesticks, calamri and softshell crab.

ravioli - i like s pizza's raviolo - its the bestest. this was not so good. i was expecting more of spinach and cream cheese inside, but i dont know - it tasted like mushroom. blech.

the whole starcom singapore was in marina square because of the bowling tournament event, which eventually my team, team GRP lost. it was fun cause we really don't get to mingle with the 7th floor people, so it was nice to get to know some of them, if not all.

---

i've always had hotpot in manila, i guess being chinese, i was just too familiar with it. mom would always cook this at home, since dad is such a fan of hotpot. we would always have noodles, fresh shrimp, meat, squid and fish balls, raddish, tofu, green leaves, etc - and base pork brothe that takes a long time to boil.

shangri-la (not the hotel) in west ave is one of dad's fave place, i ate there a few times, i remember once when the waiter had to put live shrimps in the boiling pot. kawawa the shrimp, but it turned out to be really fresh and good.

rebecca and carmen planned to get some steamboat, so we had one in purvis street, somewhere in bugis. its eat all you can steamboat (thats how they call it here), costs $21 per person. i made lambing to carmen, so she did treat me this time. i treated her the last time naman. the funny thing is when we were done, the waitress was shocked because people usually stay 3 long hours for steamboat dinner since its eat all you can nga. i dont have that time to waste, and i was damn full na.

carmen helping me cook, 2 brothes, one spicky pork, and one chicken.

the food we ordered, we have to cook pa.

thats all for now, as planned, i will be staying in this week, so next week, i have a plan to consume everything that is free. YAY! ill update on that.

bak kut teh
------

last saturday, i brought tita bot and lin to arab street and kampong glam - che recommended this place to them, super naaliw daw siya. so i brought them to go around the place, it was pretty nice, cool, quaint - actually naalala ko ang marikina shoe expo sa cubao.. hello, bellini's! there were lots of caucasians there, reading a book while sipping their coffee, having a quiet meal or a relaxed afternoon.

i've been there before, but not really went around and observed like any tourist would do. the best part was the weather - it was perfect, there was no sun but it wasn't raining as well.

after this tour, i brought them to grab early dinner - at LEE YU BAK KUT TEH. i have brought a lot of people to this place na, including mom and dad, mech and sel; and they all loved it. tita bot and lin enjoyed this too, they loved the soup of bak kut teh.

bak kut teh S$12, translated in english is like meat bone soup. it has mushrooms, pork innards, mushrooms, some veggies, and pork rib - so its really a meal by itself. of course, normally one would eat it with rice; tita bot and lin did.

this is like pata tim, i forgot what its called na here. the meat is very tender, just dont eat the fats, and you will be safe, S$8.

no coke light? eh di coke zero.

this is tofu skin S$6, i would usually order this with bak kut teh. i think they complement each other kasi.

time out
------

i need a break. i know i haven't been doing much lately, meaning no major stuff, but i feel tired and restless. i will take a weekend trip of some sort somewhere, am currently thinking of 3 places, somewhere near - so it won't be too much of a hassle to go to, where i can really take a good rest and just dont give a damn. oohh, am planning to take this trip alone as well, though i have friends coming over. reason is that, i really wanted to have this time by myself, not needing to care about other people and being considerate to what they want. if i want to laze around the hotel all day, then it should be fine. :)

--

so i have been very open and blatant in saying that i wanted to live in a new place aside from singapore. i think being here for 2 years (this month) is enough. though this "the secret" thing is not immediate, but i wish it happens by mid 2009. i know its kinda impossible, but am saying it LOUD and CLEAR for all the universe to hear, and come that date, it will just happen. HAHA!

so i was telling my boss yesterday afternoon..

"i want to work in **" - me.
"oh, i can give you contacts.." - S.
(me thinking, wow, this is a very nice guy, willing to help me if and ever)
"... in 5 years maybe?" - S.
"5 years? am old by that time" - me.
"oh, you can't leave now." - S.

conversation ends.

i actually like my job, it is manageable though of course you would have moments where you kinda wish it wouldn't happen but thats why its called a job - it is to be done. thats why i'm torned - job here or go to that new place. ARG! **** ok, ok, its too far from now, so ill think about it next year ****

sakit ng ulo ko
------

i was suppose to go the gym yesterday after work, but since my head was throbbing with pain, i decided not to, plus the fact that i hadn't had sleep and dinner. so, i called mechie and asked if she still wanted to have dinner. she said yes, and craved for beaujoulais, its a quaint little place in ann siang hill, which i have blogged about before.

when i go there, i always get my the same thing, nacho's with chili con carne, grilled salad, and a glass of wine.

chicken salad, with ceasar salad dressing.

nacho was really good, it was baked with melted cheese drizzled on top of it. we always order this, without fail.

glass of chardonay together with beautiful red carnations at the table. yes, i played with it, its pretty.

after this, i went to ride the train home (i cant find a cab).. and i was planning to hit the sack really early, but i popped in a korean series, and watched 2 episodes, wanting to watch more, my aunt and cousin told me to sleep na, checked the time and it was 12MN na pala. so i slept, later, am gonna go home early and watch again. HAHAHA!
